Officers from the Royal Yeomanry visited the King St Masjid on 31st January to showcase their activities and invited expressions of interest. There was a great deal of interest. The Yeomanry are part-time reservists and are actively recruiting Moslems, given the long historic relationship between the British armed forces and Moslem soliders who fought in both wars. Many in the community will have parents, grandparents or great grandparents, who fought in WW1 & WW2. On display were various items of equipment used for reconnaissance by reservists, such as night vision binoculars, as well sample of Halal rations supplied to soldiers.
